Ellie Jane Goulding is a British woman born on December 30, 1986. Tracey Goulding Summers was her mother. Arthur Goulding belonged to a family of undertakers. Goulding is the second child and has a brother named Alex an older sister named Isabel and a second sister named Jordan. Alex is her older brother and plays the bass with an Hereford group. Alex was encouraged by her mother to learn music as a young girl. At the age of nine, old, she started learning to play the clarinet. At 14, she started creating her first music however she didn't start seriously writing songs until her time in college. Goulding was intrigued by electronic music and dance as she studied. The interest she had in electronic music began when she studied. Through MySpace Goulding came into contact with Frankmusik. He assisted her in creating a folktronica style of music.
